long time no post!

 So been awhile since i last posted. much has happened. here's a snippet.  I got my 25 years at work. Some of the nurses I work with said... gosh I'm not even 25 yet....  gee thanks!

 Mr cookiecat.  Hes still terrorizing little Milly, its amusing watching him stalk her.

 Whats a post without some socks and Wasabi?

 Lil was doing some great work earlier in the year, she caught 3 rats.  not just mice, but big whopper rats. one was eaten apart from the head... think she was full after that one.

 I made a quilt for my father in laws wife in the UK.  The mamil took it over with him earlier in the year.

 Oh look at that... another picture of wasabi.... she got some nice new bar tape... so pretty.

 Went on my quilting guilds retreat and did a little hand piecing... this is my current hand piecing take with me project.  Theres some stitchery to do on the blocks but I'm going to do some a bit different as i don't like some of the designs.

 A trip to Perth to see the froglet and of course my grandfur baby.... Bear.  hes the cheekiest most adorable pup.

 No, its not wasabi, its the hired steed for my Perth trip, sweet ride for a few days!

 Bit of shameless plugging.  This tea is bloody amazing stuff!  Roogenics is the brand. Totally Aussie owned and produced here.  It tastes great and theres different flavours and types. My poor mamil, he was rear ended and his car was written off... hes ok, back sore.  Then he got hit 7 weeks after he got his new car pictured above... in the drivers door by a drunk driver. so the car is back from the panel beaters... meanwhile he had a hire car... the neighbour backed into it on our driveway.  That's his 3!  We also got as you can see roof racks... so his car is rather sexy looking... and even more so with wasabi on it!

3 weeks and my constant companion

 Here is Miss Milly.  she has become my little shadow for the past 3 weeks.

 Shes been loving the breakfast on the veranda, which has extended into lunch and arvo tea when the weather has been perfect.

 Cookie has also loved his outdoor time and has been sitting on the chair like lord muck.

 When I have been sitting indoors Milly takes up residence on top of the chair.. from here she can see outside and watch me on the couch.

 So I have been continuing to work on the double wedding ring... my frame became a good spot to drape my first completed row.

 Today I didn't have any visitors so I sewed the first row to the second row!!!

Amazing to see how quickly it is coming together.  I have been really good and decided that I wouldn't turn my laptop on during the day.  This has proved to be a good plan as I have utilised my down time well.

Speaking of down time.... I have a physiotherapist coming to see me on Wednesday.  I hope that she will be able to give me some exercises and help me take my first steps without my other constant companion... the frame!

book to read

Poor cookie was a little hot yesterday so he found a spot where the air conditioner was gently blowing and stretched out for maximum coolage!

I have my name down on the local library website for several books... imagine my surprise when I got the email to tell me that this book was in!! I must be the first to get it, a friend of mine just told me last week that she got her own copy!

I cut up and paired up all the fabrics for my friends granddaughters quilt.

I have now completed the blocks and need to put them together.


I'm quite pleased with the way they are looking and they weren't that bad to make either!!

cookie has a visitor!

School holidays have descended upon us down under and the noisy one is raiding the cupboard and fridge as she does at this time of year! The froglet is trying to look like cookie in the above photo!

My friend Jennifer came over with her eldest daughter and they took home with them cookies little sister whom they called Zoe. Oh my she is a pretty little thing! I had a text message from her this morning telling me that Zoe had managed to hide in behind some cupboards overnight so her hubby was busy making sure that all the holes were covered up.
her colouring is very different from cookies and she is a little bit smaller. I hope that Zoe settles into her new home soon.


Our little cookie has well and truly settled into our home and hearts and the fisherman was sprung playing with her on his hands and knees.



Today I did some work on the double wedding ring, I have grouped each arch together and counted how many more bits I need to cut out, I'm quite pleased with myself as my maths isn't my best subject and I don't have to cut many more out.
