Around the bay in a day... coming right up.

Its that time of year!  magpies swooping, daylight savings, ... and Around the bay in a DAY!!

This year we have a new target.  160km. Rosebud and return to Alexandra gardens. Just under a year ago I had my accident which took me off my bike for over 10 weeks.  With help from my friends, a physio and my own rehab at the local pool I was back on my bike for christmas day.

I have been working my way back, increasing my distances.  I did a 150km ride to Lancefield in winter.. man that was chilly.

Sunday is looking rather windy... and unfortunately its not going to be a tailwind home.  80km of resistance training!

I got my jersey, Im part of Tribal cycling team... a ladies group that I have ridden with a few times.  Just got to decide on which socks to rock.

Have been doing some work on the froglets quilt... only a few more long seams to go.

all clear

So  I went to the doc and I had the physio come see me for the last time... yep... got the all clear.  I'm going back to work after being off for 9 weeks.

I'm allowed to continue my 'rehab' and have some new exercises as well as being allowed to get back on wasabi on the road..

Of course I had to ride asap.... So this morning at 6.30am  I did my first 20km out on the road with my very own fisherman/mamil coming to keep me company.

The conditions probably couldn't have been much worse for a come back ride... headwinds and 30 degree heat even at 7am!!

But the tailwind home was sweet reward.  I felt pretty good, but didn't want to push it on the first ride... it was a slower ride, yes i could feel a few niggles but I was and am still grinning!
Need to take some new photos... this is actually about 13 bags of stuff I gathered from the girls rooms... I did a massive clean out and changed beds around etc  so savers scored big time and so did I.

Off to my guilds Christmas meeting for a while, and best of all the froglet is coming home tonight with her man for Christmas!!  woot... been 4 months since I have seen her.

The Slog

Today's adventure was in Pakenham.  My bestie and I rode in a charity ride called The Slog.  We did the 100km route.
we heard there was about 350 riders doing  the ride.  There was 4 options 30km, 70km, 100km and 150km.
It was one of the best supported rides I have ever done, and Ive done a few now.  The volunteers were amazing and seemed to be there just when you needed water or a snack.
We rode into Drouin for lunch which was great.  For $10 they gave us a chicken and salad wrap, an apricot bar, a huge cake bar and 4 freddo frogs!  I also had a gatorade... love those drinks!
The temps were high and the winds blew hard but we got to Garfield and had a well earned icy pole.  The last 10kms were hard with the headwind but we are locking in the ride for next year!

No sewing today for me, but I have nothing planned tomorrow so I'm hoping to get some sewing done.
