Bit of shameless plugging. This tea is bloody amazing stuff! Roogenics is the brand. Totally Aussie owned and produced here. It tastes great and theres different flavours and types. Ive been drinking the anti inflammatory and the detox as a mix for the past 4 months and my gut health has improved vastly. Theres a sleep one, which is lovely and a happiness tea that is great. Go have a look at their website. You can get it in most states in health food shops... GoVita stores and online. I have bought online and their delivery was very prompt.<br />

My poor mamil, he was rear ended and his car was written off... hes ok, back sore. Then he got hit 7 weeks after he got his new car pictured above... in the drivers door by a drunk driver. so the car is back from the panel beaters... meanwhile he had a hire car... the neighbour backed into it on our driveway. That's his 3! We also got as you can see roof racks... so his car is rather sexy looking... and even more so with wasabi on it!<br />
<br />
Christmas is fast looming... I wish you all a safe festive season and a happy new year!<br />

My hubby bought me a new phone as I was driving him nuts with my old phone not working properly. The camera alone on this is superb. I had a little photo shoot with this little poser.<br />
<br />

I find myself on solo rides more often of late but I still stop for a coffee and to sit and reflect on my mornings adventure. I hope all of your adventures are successful and fun. Tomorrow Im off down along beach road where its pretty flat in comparison to my local rides... this one wont be a solo ride so im sure it will be full of laughs and of course coffee.Libsterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05038352533354194606noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8201683994448390509.post-29566912779355647442017-10-11T17:59:00.000+11:002017-10-11T17:59:13.588+11:00perth trip #2 with the hubby!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9txcS5lpzPI/Wd25w3WUPDI/AAAAAAAACwU/D0RNjffT1j4NFd5jCRI63xnivU6RzCTugCLcBGAs/s1600/20170729_133930.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="961" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9txcS5lpzPI/Wd25w3WUPDI/AAAAAAAACwU/D0RNjffT1j4NFd5jCRI63xnivU6RzCTugCLcBGAs/s320/20170729_133930.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
Since my last post I also celebrated another birthday, the cup above was one of the lovely gifts I received... Ive just realised that my other really lovely gift which was an old biscuit tin that has been lined and up cycled for a sewing tin isn't in the photo.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ncYEOyhPx-w/Wd254jMkvyI/AAAAAAAACwY/fa74ePc2ZnYbRCL7j1S3Qm0-aD2krc1hACLcBGAs/s1600/20170910_134857.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="961" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ncYEOyhPx-w/Wd254jMkvyI/AAAAAAAACwY/fa74ePc2ZnYbRCL7j1S3Qm0-aD2krc1hACLcBGAs/s320/20170910_134857.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
So the hubby/fisherman/mamil came with me to visit the froglet in Perth. We surprised her, she had no idea we were coming.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BC9LE8gcVKM/Wd25-8oHF1I/AAAAAAAACwc/38skJBCEyAgeoJYd9kYtrUTqOitgNm2iwCLcBGAs/s1600/20170911_120635.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="961" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BC9LE8gcVKM/Wd25-8oHF1I/AAAAAAAACwc/38skJBCEyAgeoJYd9kYtrUTqOitgNm2iwCLcBGAs/s320/20170911_120635.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
Our second day took us for a walk to her workplace for a decent coffee and I had this really yummy breakfast. We took the cat bus into town to organise our hire bikes for a few days.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RhiWg8Hnj0E/Wd26Cgzs_RI/AAAAAAAACwg/MeuuThTQtwUCFt5TsX2pfA2VKUTbgQSCQCLcBGAs/s1600/20170911_144657.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="961" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RhiWg8Hnj0E/Wd26Cgzs_RI/AAAAAAAACwg/MeuuThTQtwUCFt5TsX2pfA2VKUTbgQSCQCLcBGAs/s320/20170911_144657.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
As we were coming back to the froglets house I saw this amazing yarn bombing, I think its one of the biggest ones Ive ever seen!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Zis_EOdyUWg/Wd26G6DWy0I/AAAAAAAACwk/4fg7aw8mbxcu1l3o32I-UEDY7FhgHcOkACLcBGAs/s1600/20170913_102037.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="961" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Zis_EOdyUWg/Wd26G6DWy0I/AAAAAAAACwk/4fg7aw8mbxcu1l3o32I-UEDY7FhgHcOkACLcBGAs/s320/20170913_102037.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
We took our own helmets and shoes with us to Perth and hired a couple of bikes from the same place i used last time. this time though we got road bikes, a couple of cannondales. They did us well for the two days.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wAlRHuYKbec/Wd26Jy9yC_I/AAAAAAAACwo/8nDs97X59csmCQ5U-edFTTLZU4b5KSuigCLcBGAs/s1600/20170913_104658.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="961" data-original-width="1600" height="192" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wAlRHuYKbec/Wd26Jy9yC_I/AAAAAAAACwo/8nDs97X59csmCQ5U-edFTTLZU4b5KSuigCLcBGAs/s320/20170913_104658.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
We managed to find probably one of the steepest roads in the whole of Perth that took us up to a great look out in kings park.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SnYKFJOa2iA/Wd26OsHclpI/AAAAAAAACws/CFBqkHGP36UU6ypmf6H6sWZOX2Wqy9VkACLcBGAs/s1600/20170913_114145.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="961" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SnYKFJOa2iA/Wd26OsHclpI/AAAAAAAACws/CFBqkHGP36UU6ypmf6H6sWZOX2Wqy9VkACLcBGAs/s320/20170913_114145.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
I managed to navigate our way all around the river this time without getting lost! I had decided to go back to the park I had a coffee and muffin at last time as it was a good halfway spot.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PBNW7VrHjVc/Wd26RWKaPpI/AAAAAAAACw0/3ZkY32Sn6bIMOJ5JgubaJqy8rTPMwJC7ACLcBGAs/s1600/20170913_130122.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="961" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PBNW7VrHjVc/Wd26RWKaPpI/AAAAAAAACw0/3ZkY32Sn6bIMOJ5JgubaJqy8rTPMwJC7ACLcBGAs/s320/20170913_130122.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
We actually went back again the next day.... We got slightly lost going to leederville... ended up in the next suburb but found our way back easily enough. Even the mamil was impressed with the paths and the lack of traffic we encountered on our rides.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3oWT0SqakGI/Wd26VvOIZbI/AAAAAAAACw4/JDX1Ym6BtmgajfaXybG_5EsMXYnAK0iqQCLcBGAs/s1600/20170914_084843.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="961" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3oWT0SqakGI/Wd26VvOIZbI/AAAAAAAACw4/JDX1Ym6BtmgajfaXybG_5EsMXYnAK0iqQCLcBGAs/s320/20170914_084843.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
Of course Bear was very excited to see me again and to meet his granddad hahahah. He slept with us for the first 3 nights.... there wasn't much room in the bed.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The weather was perfect for us for the week we were in Perth. we visited the beaches and lazed around when we didn't ride.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jZvWJ3H4JEQ/Wd26dcfI_pI/AAAAAAAACxA/BsCNSkkhHhIrqEfRef8YFJrKLW31tK6NgCLcBGAs/s1600/20170914_113540.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="961" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jZvWJ3H4JEQ/Wd26dcfI_pI/AAAAAAAACxA/BsCNSkkhHhIrqEfRef8YFJrKLW31tK6NgCLcBGAs/s320/20170914_113540.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
A bit of shell hunting happened after brunch at this beach.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-16QLMsZgey0/Wd26mYHGv-I/AAAAAAAACxE/zS366zj5NcQ8rhDNFOrZsk-hfBlqQe4mwCLcBGAs/s1600/20170916_121647.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="961" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-16QLMsZgey0/Wd26mYHGv-I/AAAAAAAACxE/zS366zj5NcQ8rhDNFOrZsk-hfBlqQe4mwCLcBGAs/s320/20170916_121647.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
On our last day we went into Fremantle to the market again and a visit to the little creatures brewery. we got a tasting plate for their beers and ciders. I got the stuff they didn't like!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Nd9gSmvFzsw/Wd26pnWi1ZI/AAAAAAAACxI/543l9rnKxNo2yfSSgAIxI2CEFzNAYN7pQCLcBGAs/s1600/20170916_120351.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="961" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Nd9gSmvFzsw/Wd26pnWi1ZI/AAAAAAAACxI/543l9rnKxNo2yfSSgAIxI2CEFzNAYN7pQCLcBGAs/s320/20170916_120351.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
Also in Freo is a maritime museum and they have a O class submarine there. The mamil got pretty excited when he found out they did tours on them. So we managed to get on the last tour of the day. He was really pleased to show the froglet and her soldier boy what conditions he used to experience when he served in the RN Submarines. The big difference was he was on bombers, which are nuclear submarines... the subs were very different but they got the general idea of what it was like in a sub.<br />

Introducing Bear! he is the froglets puppy, he is a dachshund x boarder collie. I kid you not! Hes gorgeous and very cheeky. I went to Perth where her man is currently posted to see where they are living and catch up with her, I managed to find 3 bike shops, 3 patchwork shops and a few good coffees.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VjeNWuih_ZA/WU86LU3aZfI/AAAAAAAACvw/a3beH9jUEto9On5h-eEs-9kJE0xPhV8uQCLcBGAs/s1600/18301011_10155367530482164_2116386646281634611_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="576" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VjeNWuih_ZA/WU86LU3aZfI/AAAAAAAACvw/a3beH9jUEto9On5h-eEs-9kJE0xPhV8uQCLcBGAs/s320/18301011_10155367530482164_2116386646281634611_n.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
I hired a bike for 5 hours and got a nice 60km ride with Doris (you gotta name your bike!) We rode up and around the river, found a great coffee of course. The weather was amazing while I was there, didn't put the winter woolies on at all.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I came home to slightly cooler conditions and had a few rides in the fog! Its actually very peaceful when its foggy, but you have to be more cautious and we always have our lights on regardless of time of day or the conditions.<br />

My legs got a little dewy on this ride. Like my socks? they are called disco... and yes I wear odd socks :)<br />

On a quilting/stitching note, I have finished my bike stitchery, need to put it in something now....<br />
So my next stitchery is this one..... I actually have enlarged it as it was a little tiny for me... I will turn this into a cushion.<br />

This is called cactus rose. Its paper piecing of the extreme hahahha. I haven't done any paper piecing but one of my cycling buddies has, so she is going to torture me with this. I guess its fair payback as I take her out for 'challenging' rides... shes getting stronger and fitter!<br />
<br />
This isn't my quilt, I have bought some lovely fossil ferns in Perth and supplemented them with some other fabrics... I will take pictures for the next post.. promise.<br />

Been a little busy recently..... I completed the 7 peaks with my hubby and help from my friends.<br />

This entails you, the cyclist to ride up 7 peaks in Victoria. You receive a passport which you get stamped at the top of each peak. The season starts in October and finishes at the end of March the following year.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uTM804vbUis/WOY0PPHPX0I/AAAAAAAACu8/mSUDhUBz2t0LtWMQEdwfEkcgbrXuN-sHwCLcB/s1600/16809075_10154345253987337_1718213172_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uTM804vbUis/WOY0PPHPX0I/AAAAAAAACu8/mSUDhUBz2t0LtWMQEdwfEkcgbrXuN-sHwCLcB/s320/16809075_10154345253987337_1718213172_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
There is Mt Buffalo, Falls creek, Mt Buller and Lake Mountain. Dinner Plains, Mt Hotham and Baw Baw.<br />
We only got rained on (and sleet at the top) on Lake Mountain.. the rest of the climbs were with perfect cycling weather, for me that equals not too hot and a gentle breeze.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-o6HRwRCzB6k/WOY0WDBnpoI/AAAAAAAACvA/Mpho9NM9jFUgeOiyfeQPvMTmv86EnbIjACLcB/s1600/17022446_10155165791767164_505835938043069293_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-o6HRwRCzB6k/WOY0WDBnpoI/AAAAAAAACvA/Mpho9NM9jFUgeOiyfeQPvMTmv86EnbIjACLcB/s320/17022446_10155165791767164_505835938043069293_n.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
My favourite climb and descent was Falls Creek. This is a beautiful 30km ride with undulating hills.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jpdX0gZ8ZUI/WOY0cKfvZYI/AAAAAAAACvE/yUCOhbVHArMIbIwr9l8g3XZ_65KP4UNNACLcB/s1600/17193960_10154654300426107_1690976820_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jpdX0gZ8ZUI/WOY0cKfvZYI/AAAAAAAACvE/yUCOhbVHArMIbIwr9l8g3XZ_65KP4UNNACLcB/s320/17193960_10154654300426107_1690976820_o.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I also Loved doing Mt Hotham as that was also 30km and very challenging.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PD6_fIJi_fw/WOY1s-Nyh5I/AAAAAAAACvM/m-rh6pC1hpAkbGpuo90KWtBZXhqmrXBHgCLcB/s1600/baw-baw-finish.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PD6_fIJi_fw/WOY1s-Nyh5I/AAAAAAAACvM/m-rh6pC1hpAkbGpuo90KWtBZXhqmrXBHgCLcB/s320/baw-baw-finish.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
However the shortest climb was Mt Baw Baw and this was by far the hardest with nasty short pinchy climbs. my fisherman/mamil has decided he doesn't want to do this particular climb ever again and I don't blame him as on his first attempt at descending (after a successful but long climb) he had a nasty fall and was airlifted to hospital. He was fine, how he didn't break a bone we don't know but he did bring a fair bit of gravel with him on his butt... we laugh now, but his helmet definitely saved his life.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uBtQzB51QHg/WOY18QR9uLI/AAAAAAAACvY/mhXWrkHq1n4BIm1hZjouX3mDaDOSuPmCACLcB/s1600/mt-hotham-finish.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uBtQzB51QHg/WOY18QR9uLI/AAAAAAAACvY/mhXWrkHq1n4BIm1hZjouX3mDaDOSuPmCACLcB/s320/mt-hotham-finish.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I hope to climb some of these mountains again next year.... perhaps even Baw Baw.... don't worry though I'm not going to descend on my bike, I'm not that mad hahah.<br />

Today I rode out at 6am to avoid the heat.... we did 60km and rewarded ourselves with a frozen spider... and yes these arent on my diet either....<br />

I arrived at sunny Halls Gap on the Saturday afternoon. The weatherman had promised good weather until the Wednesday... it was fingers crossed.<br />
<br />
People were arriving in cars and bus loads... the bikes were transported by cattle trucks! I was amazed the first time I went on a GVBR at how well the whole thing is run and once again I was in awe of the way the volunteers managed to co ordinate the whole shebang.<br />

Our first morning was freezing cold so out came the long fingered gloves... As I put them on I realised that I had one of mine and one of my hubby's! lucky for me I had a pair and not 2 left gloves.<br />

Every morning we would set off under the start banner to the cheers of the volunteers.<br />
Day one was Halls Gap to Dunkeld. 72km with a nice little climb about halfway.<br />
Day two Dunkeld to Mortlake. 89km.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PV4Fm0_X0VM/WFEcRHycscI/AAAAAAAACso/GvXSd49pRT8xTbiOxChkkEmeON9DrUZCACEw/s1600/20161128_162039.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PV4Fm0_X0VM/WFEcRHycscI/AAAAAAAACso/GvXSd49pRT8xTbiOxChkkEmeON9DrUZCACEw/s320/20161128_162039.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
The CWA ladies had cooked up a feast of biscuits, we bought a bunch of them at sat in the shade and munched our way through them.<br />
Day 3 was the longest day 100km mortlake to the 12 apostles just outside Port Campbell. I enjoyed this day as I had driven along these roads many years ago when I used to take the girls on holidays to Port Campbell.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NvZTy653rqQ/WFEcYkEOETI/AAAAAAAACso/9aV8wxFcWeEsEnwgeOJtSBFBM3vLJr8bACEw/s1600/20161129_125005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NvZTy653rqQ/WFEcYkEOETI/AAAAAAAACso/9aV8wxFcWeEsEnwgeOJtSBFBM3vLJr8bACEw/s320/20161129_125005.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
We arrived in Port to sunshine and a nice little treat at the foreshore of icy poles and snacks before we did our hill challenge up the road to our campsite.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4tvXhH5cqjo/WFEcdoN2YOI/AAAAAAAACtI/umz-z1oH41osLvjAdDfzcVqVzn1aLPLBwCEw/s1600/20161129_144432.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4tvXhH5cqjo/WFEcdoN2YOI/AAAAAAAACtI/umz-z1oH41osLvjAdDfzcVqVzn1aLPLBwCEw/s320/20161129_144432.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
The campsite although i was really windy had the most amazing view across towards the actual 12 apostles. We had been really lucky with the weather at this point with warm days but very chilly nights and mornings.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uLKGEtwduY0/WFEckp21NyI/AAAAAAAACtI/ClVbwZhmTcwm73A4-uBh__PwZ5pivnXhQCEw/s1600/20161129_192139.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uLKGEtwduY0/WFEckp21NyI/AAAAAAAACtI/ClVbwZhmTcwm73A4-uBh__PwZ5pivnXhQCEw/s320/20161129_192139.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
day 5 12 apostles to Apollo Bay 85km. this was the most challenging day for the whole event. We tackled the famed Lavers Hill. my friends said to me its fine, you have done bigger and longer hills. So off we went.... The hills went on and on and on! You would get to the top of one pinch only to find another one. The climbs were great but by the time I got to Apollo Bay I was really thankful to flop in my tent for a while.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gxfrAEnPmS0/WFEcq2TwVCI/AAAAAAAACtI/zVn8gkOCelci6oMaeSq2FK8XZBTlsQirwCEw/s1600/20161130_110902.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="192" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gxfrAEnPmS0/WFEcq2TwVCI/AAAAAAAACtI/zVn8gkOCelci6oMaeSq2FK8XZBTlsQirwCEw/s320/20161130_110902.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Day 6 was the rest day! time to get coffee and recharge the batteries! I can highly recommend the fish and chips at the co op!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GkN2Rh9Yl-Y/WFEcxdO5aPI/AAAAAAAACtI/pLpXrVqvR4k3FCd-hi01e0PYqhZETv4QwCEw/s1600/20161201_103500.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GkN2Rh9Yl-Y/WFEcxdO5aPI/AAAAAAAACtI/pLpXrVqvR4k3FCd-hi01e0PYqhZETv4QwCEw/s320/20161201_103500.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
This was the view of part of our campsite. We camped on both sides of the road and could hear the waves crashing as we fell asleep. The worst bit about the rest day is the school kids have too much energy and don't go to sleep by 10pm and we also have the 3 day riders join us and they are pretty excited and also don't know the 'routine'.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nbXUU6YvHQw/WFEc4jE5jFI/AAAAAAAACtI/ZE2E0PTSOiI7_Yt22FGZfcxFXkx4YGLSgCEw/s1600/20161201_154933.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="192" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nbXUU6YvHQw/WFEc4jE5jFI/AAAAAAAACtI/ZE2E0PTSOiI7_Yt22FGZfcxFXkx4YGLSgCEw/s320/20161201_154933.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
day 7 Apollo bay to Bellbrae 80km. This was my favourite day of the entire event. We had closed roads along the great ocean road to Lorne. Beautiful views with rolling hills and no cars trying to pass us or zooming towards us on the windy roads.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7skLkCJDnIM/WFEc_-WUTtI/AAAAAAAACtI/HU8CD_90y9g3Dc8m9rTwrGGhqU5KSKIQgCEw/s1600/20161202_090309.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7skLkCJDnIM/WFEc_-WUTtI/AAAAAAAACtI/HU8CD_90y9g3Dc8m9rTwrGGhqU5KSKIQgCEw/s320/20161202_090309.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
We had a rest stop at Kennett River... I rolled in and could see King parrots.... A school boy gave me a handful of seed and within moments I had them all over me.... I was called the bird lady (and for days afterward people would ask me.. are you that bird lady?!).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-z4HaLU8rv-o/WFEdHW4zLaI/AAAAAAAACtI/rGp53JL7w0gsVcYK1-OTX8GcLdM-s8nmgCEw/s1600/20161202_091853.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-z4HaLU8rv-o/WFEdHW4zLaI/AAAAAAAACtI/rGp53JL7w0gsVcYK1-OTX8GcLdM-s8nmgCEw/s320/20161202_091853.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
We did get some light rain that morning, but the parrots didn't seem to mind and they certainly helped keep my mind off getting damp.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ygD0ciwFgvE/WFEdjyjubcI/AAAAAAAACs8/0TroeiDgmZcec4-2NX44yG_5zPGJv7CMQCEw/s1600/20161202_091951.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ygD0ciwFgvE/WFEdjyjubcI/AAAAAAAACs8/0TroeiDgmZcec4-2NX44yG_5zPGJv7CMQCEw/s320/20161202_091951.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
This cheeky one sat on the wheel of this bike with a piece of my peanut butter and honey sandwich. Then he decided my head was even better and sat on my helmet and continued to share my snacks.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZZnc46g_d3k/WFEdjvnD52I/AAAAAAAACs4/-xKOjH2CPbkbWaZG3Aq7lmETiz5nLuUiQCEw/s1600/20161202_092148.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZZnc46g_d3k/WFEdjvnD52I/AAAAAAAACs4/-xKOjH2CPbkbWaZG3Aq7lmETiz5nLuUiQCEw/s320/20161202_092148.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
From Lorne we had to share the road with on coming traffic, but I didn't hear of any issues with motorists.. we had a huge support crew of Marshall's on motorbikes, police on motorbikes and in cars as well as medical support and the SAG wagon to pick up the cyclists who found they couldn't quite finish the ride that day.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Day 8 Bellbrae to Queenscliff 53km the shortest day took us past Bells beach and other surfing meccas.... I think some surfers who came up to their cars were a bit startled to see so many cyclists in the car park. There was over 4000 of us! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bJtZLjWOql8/WFEdldV8t1I/AAAAAAAACtE/EPHP0clScR4_FldJ79_w1rdBH_tZYC-pgCEw/s1600/20161203_085902.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bJtZLjWOql8/WFEdldV8t1I/AAAAAAAACtE/EPHP0clScR4_FldJ79_w1rdBH_tZYC-pgCEw/s320/20161203_085902.jpg" width="192" /></a></div>
Day 9 Queenscliffe to Geelong 62km the last day. We had been blessed with the best weather and the final day promised to be a scorcher.<br />
The traffic picked up as we got closer to our final destination and the riders all seemed to take their time not wanting their journey to finish.<br />

I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed my GV this year, with many factors making it so enjoyable from the people I rode with to the weather and good food. 527kms done and dusted.<br />
Next years ride is starting at Wilsons Promontory down Gippsland way and finishing in Trafalgar. 517kmsLibsterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05038352533354194606noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8201683994448390509.post-60921069717912535542016-11-25T00:43:00.000+11:002016-11-25T00:43:06.485+11:00Great Vic bike ride<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Its that time of year! magpies swooping, daylight savings, ... and Around the bay in a DAY!!<br />
<br />
This year we have a new target. 160km. Rosebud and return to Alexandra gardens. Just under a year ago I had my accident which took me off my bike for over 10 weeks. With help from my friends, a physio and my own rehab at the local pool I was back on my bike for christmas day.<br />
<br />
I have been working my way back, increasing my distances. I did a 150km ride to Lancefield in winter.. man that was chilly. <br />
<br />
Sunday is looking rather windy... and unfortunately its not going to be a tailwind home. 80km of resistance training!<br />
<br />

So I recently celebrated a bit of a mile stone. I turned 50! EEEKKK... funny thing is I still feel like I'm in my 20's I guess I act like it too sometimes.<br />
<br />
So I had a quiet day, had lunch with some friends and family and then had another small dinner with some family and friends at a new local Vietnamese place which was really good.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I went for a cheeky ride the other day, the sun was out so I didn't put long legs on.... was able to wear my new velosocks.<br />

my quilting buddies surprised me even more, they had bought me a gift voucher from my local bike shop. Then the shop had a sale! I scored big time with shoes, sunnies and new knicks.<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eq8M-cNQ5_8/V8bIO8Ao3LI/AAAAAAAACp4/oPj9VBlU5iAZghvPd1l-vo6hwWY93AltgCLcB/s1600/2008-08-14%2B17.22.17.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eq8M-cNQ5_8/V8bIO8Ao3LI/AAAAAAAACp4/oPj9VBlU5iAZghvPd1l-vo6hwWY93AltgCLcB/s320/2008-08-14%2B17.22.17.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

The noisy one bought a heap of new nail polish.. I couldn't decide on a colour!<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PSNtg0mGwyA/V8bID3oJI2I/AAAAAAAACpo/Ot1LAabEafU3AjuYnYjt7-Zek9zpGG4EQCLcB/s1600/2008-08-22%2B00.53.51.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PSNtg0mGwyA/V8bID3oJI2I/AAAAAAAACpo/Ot1LAabEafU3AjuYnYjt7-Zek9zpGG4EQCLcB/s320/2008-08-22%2B00.53.51.jpg" width="320" /></a>And finally from the vegie patch... a MASSIVE cauliflower, modelled here by the froglet!<br />

I have been sewing.... here's another splendid block. I'm hoping that I might actually do abit more sewing and maybe take some photos and post a few things here in the next 3 weeks as I am on annual leave YAY!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Last Saturday the fisherman/mamil did an epic ride.... he rode 200km yes you read correctly he did 200km. It took him a very respectable 10.5hrs of riding time.. he rode up to Yea and then back down through Broadford and back home. I'm very proud of his achievements as a cyclist, we are now both working our way forward to our next big rides later in the year for around the bay in a day. He is going to do the 250km and I'm doing the 160km to Rosebud and return.<br />

Here's my newest socks from Italy! the Froglet brought them home for me. We are going up to Brisvegas in a few weeks to set up the apartment for when her soldier boy returns home in a few weeks time.<br />
<br />
The noisy one is on her first placement in aged care, she seems to be enjoying doing 'nursing' rather than reading about it.<br />
<br />
I'm also about to join the 50 club! eekkkkk. I have been sewing in between my riding! I'm doing the splendid sampler.... I wasn't going to as I really don't need another project but after looking at other peoples blocks and seeing colours I saw a chance to use my black and white collection.... I have also thrown in some colour. I made a mistake on the above block... thus a few extra flying geese.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-q6pJiwWGYMo/V0pmFfoyHOI/AAAAAAAACmY/sOg0DFdgj74t4Vaq7rM9CvX6_RVsdGBygCLcB/s1600/2008-05-26%2B17.04.04.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-q6pJiwWGYMo/V0pmFfoyHOI/AAAAAAAACmY/sOg0DFdgj74t4Vaq7rM9CvX6_RVsdGBygCLcB/s320/2008-05-26%2B17.04.04.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
This is the quilt shop.... have to do some embroidery.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oGlSFaoi2rw/V0pmIoOvNqI/AAAAAAAACmc/xieJHtezGtErTLNm1jJiyHmwi1YcFzxRwCLcB/s1600/2008-05-21%2B22.10.05.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oGlSFaoi2rw/V0pmIoOvNqI/AAAAAAAACmc/xieJHtezGtErTLNm1jJiyHmwi1YcFzxRwCLcB/s320/2008-05-21%2B22.10.05.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
And the friendship block. I haven't tackled the paper piecing yet....<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eJcfGcmm_tw/V0pmRo7ogHI/AAAAAAAACmg/cN0m_GYgc8gWlBTJdnpkORly5IwbBTHmQCLcB/s1600/2008-05-22%2B16.59.43.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eJcfGcmm_tw/V0pmRo7ogHI/AAAAAAAACmg/cN0m_GYgc8gWlBTJdnpkORly5IwbBTHmQCLcB/s320/2008-05-22%2B16.59.43.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Now I didn't do this event.... this is called cyclocross. For those who don't know what it is, its basically cross country on a bike! you get to have fun in the mud and tackle obstacles and a massive hill.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k5jQ7FtXzrs/V0pmTlAfwcI/AAAAAAAACmk/p8llH8a682IpQzruqFlJlLzQqxt2__elQCLcB/s1600/2008-05-22%2B17.22.03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k5jQ7FtXzrs/V0pmTlAfwcI/AAAAAAAACmk/p8llH8a682IpQzruqFlJlLzQqxt2__elQCLcB/s320/2008-05-22%2B17.22.03.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
A few people I know did the course and made it look really easy, but I know its not.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MTgu337ecYc/V0pmYEbBDVI/AAAAAAAACmo/bexKVGfNdxIwlPMdzv_T0ZBhnXuZjwGTQCLcB/s1600/2008-05-08%2B22.18.20.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MTgu337ecYc/V0pmYEbBDVI/AAAAAAAACmo/bexKVGfNdxIwlPMdzv_T0ZBhnXuZjwGTQCLcB/s320/2008-05-08%2B22.18.20.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
It was mothers day a few weeks back... the noisy one made me some yummy pancakes for my dinner. I also got some beautiful flowers from the froglet, who is in Italy at the moment with her soldier boy.<br />

been awhile! Ive been busy riding. Did Lake Mountain 113km ride about a month ago. Rode around King Lake a few weeks ago, was bit over 90km from memory... then last Sunday I took part in the first ever women's only ride. We were blessed with excellent weather and had the most amazing route. We rode from Wandin cherry farm through the 1 in 20 which is from the basin to Sassafrass... then through to Monbulk.... I rode past Mrs Martins! I wanted to stop and take a photo but was on a time line!<br />
<br />
I know that many locals were not happy about the event due to the road closures, I was very surprised at the amount of closures that we had (I was not upset personally, it was great having no cars up my butt). The event went so well and we didn't want for anything, we had challenging hills and the last 25kms were the hardest of the entire 100km event.<br />
<br />
Tomorrow we are off to Euroa for ride the ranges..... my bestie and I did this last year, but only did the 85km route.... tomorrow we tackle the 130km... and we are taking with us another 8 people!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UYj8o1yyhMQ/VxtHR9Rk39I/AAAAAAAACl4/0Oa8J2dl76Qzi4CIHM-TVXkmrtN4Yw14gCLcB/s1600/2008-04-02%2B17.21.33.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UYj8o1yyhMQ/VxtHR9Rk39I/AAAAAAAACl4/0Oa8J2dl76Qzi4CIHM-TVXkmrtN4Yw14gCLcB/s320/2008-04-02%2B17.21.33.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Sewing wise? I have been doing the noisy ones best friends 18th quilt... she loves capt America so this is the back. and theres the front below...... <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sazWQemKZwE/VxtHXc8Bw9I/AAAAAAAACl8/OzSBAzQgPk0vANgMETOCfB5eWRe1GE0HwCLcB/s1600/2008-02-28%2B19.00.18.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sazWQemKZwE/VxtHXc8Bw9I/AAAAAAAACl8/OzSBAzQgPk0vANgMETOCfB5eWRe1GE0HwCLcB/s320/2008-02-28%2B19.00.18.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I have also been doing the splendid sampler..... I am well behind in my blocks.... thought i would get some done today... nope. Ended up going to a cat adoption day (oh my I nearly came home with 2 more beautiful kitties!) and then to westies to spend more of my money and not on me!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

We are having a long weekend down under. This is for our ANZAC day. The froglet and I went to the spirit of ANZAC earlier in the year. She is going to the dawn service at our nearby Army barracks on Monday as she has a pass to get into the base due to the boyfriend.<br />
<br />
I usually ride and think about those who have served our country and those still protecting us.<br />
<br />

so my vegie garden is growing.... and the fisherman is going to extend it!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Nw23No_qAJs/VsBHtksPIBI/AAAAAAAAClM/u701Jc4PHtA/s1600/2008-01-26%2B20.07.11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Nw23No_qAJs/VsBHtksPIBI/AAAAAAAAClM/u701Jc4PHtA/s320/2008-01-26%2B20.07.11.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
We have harvested all our lettuce and have planted some more. along with leeks, cauliflower, broccoli and Asian greens. We actually have had to plant some of them in our regular garden beds!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6UGbukHpZGo/VsBH4S9-TcI/AAAAAAAAClQ/FgZyEfHERj8/s1600/2008-01-28%2B18.16.42.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6UGbukHpZGo/VsBH4S9-TcI/AAAAAAAAClQ/FgZyEfHERj8/s320/2008-01-28%2B18.16.42.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I have a new project. The noisy ones bestie is turning 18.... what to give her? A quilt of course!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ajRQ3GdbHhE/VsBH6avnX1I/AAAAAAAAClU/GMo0qOjCtw8/s1600/2008-01-28%2B18.17.01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ajRQ3GdbHhE/VsBH6avnX1I/AAAAAAAAClU/GMo0qOjCtw8/s320/2008-01-28%2B18.17.01.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
She loves captain America so she is getting that on the back... but she likes purples, greens and black. I found this jelly roll when I was in Queensland it fit the bill perfectly.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VDnaodaJSbw/VsBH8qq6HBI/AAAAAAAAClY/iLh4j2KtX5k/s1600/2008-01-28%2B18.36.36.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VDnaodaJSbw/VsBH8qq6HBI/AAAAAAAAClY/iLh4j2KtX5k/s320/2008-01-28%2B18.36.36.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

So another trip up north, this time to bring the froglet home for 6 months while solider boyfriend is in Kabul. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Pd0si_7D-Ds/VqccqyXTuQI/AAAAAAAACkY/GW0Q5NwFGNk/s1600/2008-01-14%2B19.36.56.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Pd0si_7D-Ds/VqccqyXTuQI/AAAAAAAACkY/GW0Q5NwFGNk/s320/2008-01-14%2B19.36.56.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
I took some photos of the local plants and flowers.... some I know the names of... some I'm not sure.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--sS6vev_kuA/VqccuFBJJQI/AAAAAAAACkg/o9b8rnBp2lY/s1600/2008-01-15%2B20.13.42.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--sS6vev_kuA/VqccuFBJJQI/AAAAAAAACkg/o9b8rnBp2lY/s320/2008-01-15%2B20.13.42.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I love flowering gums.... such stunning flowers.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I got some stitching happening on the balcony in the late afternoons while the light was good.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This flower was amazing, so pretty and delicate... looks like a bottle brush.<br />

I also finally went to this shop! I realised it was on the way home from our trip to Mooloolbah so I plotted a detour. The froglet is so good with my little detours, she finds a chair and sits and waits and comments on my finds.Libsterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05038352533354194606noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8201683994448390509.post-85085530229794754512016-01-10T18:23:00.001+11:002016-01-10T18:23:09.100+11:00Special birthday<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Sorry for the sideways photo... but here is my last basket full of home grown lettuce and rocket... its been lovely having my own lettuce in my lunches, even the fisherman/mamil is happy to eat his rabbit food!<br />

My mum turned 80 this week... we had a lovely high tea party for her yesterday and the cake was really yummy... came from Greensborough cake shop Pelligra. Was a strawberry sponge as mum dislikes mud cake, so I wasn't about to buy her one of those!<br />

Today I went out for a ride, went and did 3 repeats on this road in Whittlesea, just around the corner from where I had my accident.... after I did the repeats I turned left at the exact spot and about the same time I reckon.. 12 weeks to the day. I survived. I also had a bit of fun taking photos for a change!<br />

This cannot be said for my hubbys inner tube..... we cruised down Plenty road together and all of a sudden he pulled over.... this little sucker was embedded in his rear tyre. the little bit was just poking out of the tyre.... I tried to pull it out, ripping my nails to shreds... then he took it off and discovered the rest of this piece of nail hidden.... he is getting faster with his tube changing!Libsterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05038352533354194606noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8201683994448390509.post-79904825649877442222016-01-01T22:43:00.000+11:002016-01-01T22:43:44.153+11:00happy new year<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

We took a visit to the yarra valley chocolatiere. I went there last year on the last day of the great Vic bike ride and didn't eat as i was feeling a tad under the weather, so finally over a year later i got to return!<br />

I got a bit spoilt this Christmas.... this is a small (hahaha) mug from the froglet... she saw it in London on her travels and said she had to buy it for me. she broke her no breakable rule for her mummy :)<br />

This year I got a chook from mum for Christmas... Her 80th birthday is next week and we are having a party.... she has asked people not to give her gifts but to donate to the flying doctors instead. so we will have envelopes from the flying doctors for ease of donating.<br />

I'm going back to work after being off for 9 weeks.<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I'm allowed to continue my 'rehab' and have some new exercises as well as being allowed to get back on wasabi on the road..</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Of course I had to ride asap.... So this morning at 6.30am I did my first 20km out on the road with my very own fisherman/mamil coming to keep me company.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The conditions probably couldn't have been much worse for a come back ride... headwinds and 30 degree heat even at 7am!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
But the tailwind home was sweet reward. I felt pretty good, but didn't want to push it on the first ride... it was a slower ride, yes i could feel a few niggles but I was and am still grinning!<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pE9GK5oH30k/VnSL8IDFXYI/AAAAAAAAChQ/CZ9gJR6OYz0/s1600/2015-12-13%2B21.54.46.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pE9GK5oH30k/VnSL8IDFXYI/AAAAAAAAChQ/CZ9gJR6OYz0/s320/2015-12-13%2B21.54.46.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Need to take some new photos... this is actually about 13 bags of stuff I gathered from the girls rooms... I did a massive clean out and changed beds around etc so savers scored big time and so did I.<br />
<br />
Off to my guilds Christmas meeting for a while, and best of all the froglet is coming home tonight with her man for Christmas!! woot... been 4 months since I have seen her.</div>

I may or may not have done some extra minutes on her last night.... my neighbours may or may not have heard me singing to my music.... was rather happy to be spinning my legs.<br />

Its blurry..but the big tree IS up for the first time in a few years.... I couldn't remember what colours I have... So I sorted through the bags of deco's.... I threw out an entire rubbish bag of broken ornaments and manky tinsel. I'm going shopping tomorrow for a few more bits and pieces... I have a bit of a theme going of owls, mushrooms and apples....Libsterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05038352533354194606noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8201683994448390509.post-46683246128706181432015-12-04T23:16:00.000+11:002015-12-04T23:16:19.230+11:00moving on!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
So here is the next row of the double wedding ring. The froglet turned 21 this week... I cant believe its been 21 years since she entered my life... and she certainly made a huge entry.<br />
<br />
I'm getting excited again as she and her solider boy will be home in 16 days for Christmas and new years... then she will be coming home from Brisvegas for 6 months.... road trip coming up!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-80XydocAupg/VmF94w2ly3I/AAAAAAAACfw/rkPy4RI7uhs/s1600/2015-11-26%2B14.37.09.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-80XydocAupg/VmF94w2ly3I/AAAAAAAACfw/rkPy4RI7uhs/s320/2015-11-26%2B14.37.09.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
So now my other exciting news.... saw my physio today and I can chuck the crutches! I can now increase my exercises ANDDDDDDDDDDDDD I sat on wasabi today... oh my! how excited am I! hahahaha.... had to come to a compromise with the physio... she said she didn't want me to ride for another 2 weeks... but you let me sit on my bike!! So I have a hybrid bike.. its more upright and has a big fat arse seat... I can go for short rides and increase as it feels ok.... BUT I can also put my wasabi on the wind trainer and start riding on the back verandah. WOOOT!!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VgKapOw6xxQ/VmGA4mnHW2I/AAAAAAAACf8/FTRxdciCuNc/s1600/crutch.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VgKapOw6xxQ/VmGA4mnHW2I/AAAAAAAACf8/FTRxdciCuNc/s320/crutch.jpg" width="134" /></a><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I made the froglets boyfriend a laundry bag as he is going overseas early next year... this is just a little peek.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-INsXh0P6z0o/VlbsUW8npmI/AAAAAAAACfY/I9VyabeOquQ/s1600/2015-11-24%2B15.25.17.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-INsXh0P6z0o/VlbsUW8npmI/AAAAAAAACfY/I9VyabeOquQ/s320/2015-11-24%2B15.25.17.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Today I joint the 3rd row of the double wedding ring together.... took photos but the camera seems to have shit itself..... actually I have had one of those days of things shitting themselves, but that's another storyLibsterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05038352533354194606noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8201683994448390509.post-20912780220116510952015-11-16T16:43:00.002+11:002015-11-16T16:43:58.972+11:00four weeks on.....<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-V7k7QKW6UX8/VkloZUXpsoI/AAAAAAAACdw/RhRGb67zk7s/s1600/2015-11-15%2B12.58.26.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-V7k7QKW6UX8/VkloZUXpsoI/AAAAAAAACdw/RhRGb67zk7s/s320/2015-11-15%2B12.58.26.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
So this is going to be the nearest I get to riding my bike for a few more weeks..... sigh.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-10MrMCUAOVA/VklobuHv-0I/AAAAAAAACd0/SOi_T_vmFDw/s1600/2015-11-16%2B17.22.04.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-10MrMCUAOVA/VklobuHv-0I/AAAAAAAACd0/SOi_T_vmFDw/s320/2015-11-16%2B17.22.04.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
I'm improving but Ive decided that when I take steps without my crutches I waddle rather like a cross between a pregnant woman and someone who has had a hip replacement! It also is much more painful to walk without my trusty crutches so waddling is being kept to a minimum!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mnkztfEZXtM/VklolgNnAdI/AAAAAAAACd4/LgHp80aEFgk/s1600/2015-11-16%2B17.22.17.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mnkztfEZXtM/VklolgNnAdI/AAAAAAAACd4/LgHp80aEFgk/s320/2015-11-16%2B17.22.17.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Here is a shot of my leg though.... a great improvement since I first came off the bike, I have been using the bio oil every day and I believe this has greatly helped minimise the scarring.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4oxWqsoIMiQ/VkloxKd96_I/AAAAAAAACeA/KbSVztqPFC0/s1600/2015-11-15%2B12.58.48.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4oxWqsoIMiQ/VkloxKd96_I/AAAAAAAACeA/KbSVztqPFC0/s320/2015-11-15%2B12.58.48.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

She was on my lap getting bellie rubs, so I took her photo... I think she looks rather cute this way.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I'm taking a little break from the DWR piecing and picked up a stitchery that I had prepared some time ago.<br />

Rather than red work I have chosen a nice variegated blue thread for something different. I bought this pattern from the quilt show, as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it.<br />
