So another trip up north, this time to bring the froglet home for 6 months while solider boyfriend is in Kabul.
I took some photos of the local plants and flowers.... some I know the names of... some I'm not sure.
I love flowering gums.... such stunning flowers.
I got some stitching happening on the balcony in the late afternoons while the light was good.
This flower was amazing, so pretty and delicate... looks like a bottle brush.
I also finally went to this shop! I realised it was on the way home from our trip to Mooloolbah so I plotted a detour. The froglet is so good with my little detours, she finds a chair and sits and waits and comments on my finds.

Special birthday
My mum turned 80 this week... we had a lovely high tea party for her yesterday and the cake was really yummy... came from Greensborough cake shop Pelligra. Was a strawberry sponge as mum dislikes mud cake, so I wasn't about to buy her one of those!
Today I went out for a ride, went and did 3 repeats on this road in Whittlesea, just around the corner from where I had my accident.... after I did the repeats I turned left at the exact spot and about the same time I reckon.. 12 weeks to the day. I survived. I also had a bit of fun taking photos for a change!
This cannot be said for my hubbys inner tube..... we cruised down Plenty road together and all of a sudden he pulled over.... this little sucker was embedded in his rear tyre. the little bit was just poking out of the tyre.... I tried to pull it out, ripping my nails to shreds... then he took it off and discovered the rest of this piece of nail hidden.... he is getting faster with his tube changing!

happy new year
My year started with an outing with my family and my besties family to a great venue!
this is actually a chocolate frog.... a very large one too!
We took a visit to the yarra valley chocolatiere. I went there last year on the last day of the great Vic bike ride and didn't eat as i was feeling a tad under the weather, so finally over a year later i got to return!
these aren't books they are blocks of chocolate!! such pretty wrappings... sure to tempt overseas visitors
The froglet loved it all... specially all the chocolate frogs
this was a salted caramel tart with vanilla bean iceceam and a pot of melted chocolate... I can highly recommend the icecreams!
this was one of their icecream sundaes!!! honeycomb... in the background I just noticed the fisherman's.... pavlova!!
I got a bit spoilt this Christmas.... this is a small (hahaha) mug from the froglet... she saw it in London on her travels and said she had to buy it for me. she broke her no breakable rule for her mummy :)
This year I got a chook from mum for Christmas... Her 80th birthday is next week and we are having a party.... she has asked people not to give her gifts but to donate to the flying doctors instead. so we will have envelopes from the flying doctors for ease of donating.
